A bricklayer, named Gabriel Awaye has been sentenced to life in prison by the Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court’s Justice Abiola Soladoye for defiling a 13-year-old girl in his chamber.
Because of Awaye’s daring sexual recklessness, the judge declared him unable to live in a community of civilized people and imposed a lifelong prison sentence.
The prosecution’s witnesses gave genuine testimony, and the survivor’s testimony was clear and concise.
The bricklayer’s name ought to be added to the Lagos State Sexual Offenses Register after he was found guilty on two charges of defilement and sexual assault.
During the trial, the offender testified as the only witness in support of his cause, while the prosecution called three witnesses.
According to Miss Abimbola Abolade, the state’s prosecutor, the bricklayer committed the crimes on June 2, 2021 in the Lagos State neighborhood of Agbado Oke-Odo, at Agbawaye Street.
Awaye entered a not guilty plea to the two charges the state had preffered against him at his arraignment.
